<![CDATA[# Setting Up Your GTM Profile
Your GTM Profile is the foundation of AI-powered content generation in Hal. It teaches the AI about your product, customers, and messaging so it can create on-brand marketing content.
What is a GTM Profile?
A GTM Profile consists of 7 key sections that define your go-to-market strategy:
- ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) — Who you're selling to
- Value Props — What benefits you deliver
- Positioning — How you're different from alternatives
- Objections — Common concerns and how you address them
- Proof Points — Case studies, metrics, testimonials
- Pricing — Your pricing model and how you communicate it
- Tone & Voice — How your brand sounds
How to Complete Your Profile
1. Navigate to Strategy → GTM Profile
From the main navigation, click Strategy then select GTM Profile.
2. Fill Out Each Section
Work through each of the 7 sections. The more detail you provide, the better the AI can generate relevant content.
Tips:
- Be specific: "SaaS founders with 10-100 customers" is better than "startups"
- Use real examples: Paste actual customer quotes, testimonials, or objections you've heard
- Think in bullet points: The AI works best with structured information
3. Use the Readiness Score
As you fill out your profile, the Dashboard shows a readiness score. Aim for 80%+ before generating content.
Green indicators show completed sections. Yellow indicators show sections that need more detail.
4. Iterate Over Time
Your GTM strategy evolves. Update your profile when:
- You pivot your positioning
- You discover new customer segments
- You gather new proof points or testimonials
- Your pricing changes
